It has begun-THE FINAL COUNTDOWN! Twelve days left to wait. Jackson (me too) is about to burst. We have been slowly getting ready by buying little things for the trip. We have been shopping for luggage and wanted to share the best pick so far!!
Anyone who knows Jackson, knows he doesn't eat. We're excited if we can get him to sit down long enough to eat a chicken nugget and some fries. Since his last dose of steroids, he has been eating like crazy. Tonight we got pizza for dinner and he ate 5 pieces of a small cheese pizza. We couldn't believe it! We had to document it in photographs!
I made these cute cupcakes today for a play date with the Knight family. Ice cupcakes to look like sand and water, put teddy grahams in gummy lifesavers and on fruit roll-ups for floats. Throw gumballs in water to look like beach balls and tada! A super cute summer dessert!
Just thought I would give everyone a wellness update on Jackson. Jackson had sinus surgery about six weeks ago. He had been sick since September with everything one can catch from preschool. The surgery went very well, except for the nose washes we have to do. All three of us will now need counseling to get over the ordeal. :) Soon after the surgery, Jackson developed a little cough that would not leave and more green mucus. Our ENT, Dr. Coffey, called in an antibiotic for ten days. After a few days, I took him to the Dr. Miller and she said he was having asthma problems too. She put him on a steroid, added another antibiotic and daily breathing treatments again. Add that to: Singulair, Clarinex, Syimbcort and Miralax. As you can see, meds are a big part of our life. We are happy to announce that Jackson will be starting a new IG treatment in August after out Disney trip. He will have a 2 hour weekly infusion at home. This should help his levels to stay up and keep him healthy for Kindergarten!!! Each week brings new highs and new lows, but Jackson takes it like a trooper. He is a true amazement to us! I almost forgot-at present his coughing is getting better and we see Dr. Coffey on Thursday to release us of the nose washes-I hope!!
Happy Fourth of July!!! We want to share our newest family picture with everyone. Too bad Jackson is staring off at the cupcakes and presents! Thank you Kim for always having a camera ready-we love it!
Well, I'm almost finished with summer school!! Two more days of testing and I will be home free. Who ever said teachers get three months off was NOT A TEACHER. I keep reminding myself why I did this: DISNEY. Upcoming blog: Jackson Swims!!-complete w/pics
